I’m not much for ready-made dough, but when push comes to shove and I need a quick, easy way to entertain I never go without these wonderful crescent roll dough.  Any brand will do, and I happened to stumble upon these 2 for deals at the grocery store the other day.  So here’s an ode to easy entertaining and a few interchangeable options to boot…

Ingredients:
-1 can of regular or butterflake crescent rolls
-1 tsp honey (local, organic is what I used for this recipe)
-4 tbsp butter (I used organic, but it’s optional)
Wheatgerm (optional)
-Loose flour
-Rolling board
-Baking sheet
-Parchment paper
-Pastry brush
For the fillings:
You can use any of the following–
-Peanut Butter & Jelly , i.e. Goober brand
-Any type of Jam
Preheat oven to 375 Degrees F.
Directions:
*Separate dough as instructed on from the Crescent Roll can.
*Melt the butter for about approximately 30 seconds on the microwave (heat may vary).
*When melted remove from microwave and mix in the honey.
*Place loose flour on the rolling board and lay dough flat like a triangle.
*Brush the honey butter on top and add 1/4 of a teaspoon of any filling you desire by spreading it on slightly on the dough.
*Roll loosely as instructed on the crescent roll can.
*Place it on the parchment-covered baking sheet and brush the crescent roll lightly on the top with the honey butter.
*Sprinkle with a pinch (or more) of wheatgerm (optional ingredient I love to use).
*Do the same for the remainder of the rolls.
*Bake for 8-10 minutes (although the can indicates 11-13) OR until golden brown.Enjoy making this snack/breakfast pastry/dessert or whenever it strikes your fancy, along with your kids! It’s fun, easy and of course, yummy!
